The gift of a pair of shoes ensures that a child has the correct footwear, a prerequisite in Kenya to attend school. In addition, a pair of shoes will protect the child from a debilitating foot parasite (the Tunga flea, known as a “jigger”), which makes walking almost insufferable and prevents them from attending school.
 
This gift will enable a child to wear new shoes to school each January.
